Rachel and Kevin

On Saturday I met Rachel and Kevin in Echo Park to photograph their engagement session.  I had never photographed at Echo Park Lake before so I was really excited to have some new scenery to work with. This spot really has a lot of fun options with the beautiful park setting contrasted with an urban flair.  It really was a lot of fun.  And I love that Rachel and Kevin were playful and really got into the photos. They were up for anything I suggested.  Once we wrapped the lake we headed to Santa Monica Pier where we brazed some pretty fierce winds.  Rachel certainly is no bridezilla.  I don’t know of any other bride that could handle mother nature’s gusty blows with such ease.  What a trooper!  Unfortunate weather or not we still got some really great shots and had a great time doing it.  Check out some of my favorites from the day.

What great photos! You two are super photogenic. I love the variety. My favorite has got to be the one when Kevin is puking on the roller coaster on the pier. Great stuff.

Lovely photos! I love the mix of color and black and white shots. A beautiful couple, and the photos really capture a mix of fun and intimate moments.

Good choice on your photographer. She’s got a great eye and vision. All the pictures are wonderful and I really enjoyed seeing them. My favs are #5 (close-up, laughing, so natural), the picture of you running at the park with the birds flying on the right and the palm trees on the left (so balanced and full of life), and very meaningful is the picture of the two of you walking on the wooden path through the water with the land, cars and adventure park in the distance. There is also a bright light and a cloud ahead of you and your shadows behind you.

Good luck and best wishes and prayers for your future together. Love to you both.

I love the shot with the ‘Do Not Stand here sign’ because it reminds me of one of your rooms having a balcony like that overlooking Echo Park. I must also say: you two make a beautiful couple’ Love from, Schlomo.
