Annalou and Don

On Saturday I met Annalou and Don in Old Town Pasadena to shoot their engagement photos. We were worried that it was going to rain but we got lucky and the rain held out. We had nice overcast lighting to work with all day… it was fabulous! We explored some alley ways and brick walls keeping it very urban. Then we headed over to Alverno High School for a little Italian villa flare. This place is one of my favorite locations to shoot. It’s just too gorgeous for words… and so were Annalou and Don. They were such the perfect subjects working it the whole day. Thanks for the fun day you two. Looking forward to seeing you again in March.

Check out some of the favorites from the day.

Leslie and Damon

On Sunday I met Leslie and Damon in San Marino at the Huntington Library Gardens to shoot their engagement photos. It was nearly 100 degrees that day but we still managed to overcome and get some great shots. Not only do the gardens always prove to be a great spot for photos but Leslie and Damon were so comfortable in front of the camera… what a bonus! They were so sweet with each other and constantly cracking up… they were just too cute. Afterwards we headed over to Old Town Pasadena for some urban flair. I love all the fun alley ways and brick walls you can discover here. We took advantage and wrapped up the day with one of my favorite long exposure shots. What a fun day! I’m looking forward to seeing Leslie and Damon again in November for their wedding.

Here are a few favorites from the day.

Jocelyn and Paul in San Diego

On Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing two very good friends of mine for their engagement photos. We started out at Balboa Park where we took advantage of the architecture and gardens and really just the fun park atmosphere. Jocelyn and Paul brought their personalities to the table and really hammed it up for a few shots. They even brought along a couple of wigs which we used for some more silly pics. I was laughing so hard at some points I had to stop shooting. I just couldn’t take it… it was too funny. After the park we headed over to La Jolla Cove for some romantic beach shots. These two have it all! They can laugh together and when it comes to the more intimate shots they can turn that on too. What a fun day with friends. Congratulations you two! Can’t wait for the wedding in August.

Some wig action.

Sabrina and Ricky

Yesterday I met Sabrina and Ricky at UCLA to photograph their engagement session. Not only is the UCLA campus just a beautiful spot to photograph, it also holds special meaning to Sabrina because she graduated from there. After wrapping up at the campus we headed over to the Santa Monica Pier. I always have such a great time shooting there. It’s so much fun with the carnival atmosphere and the beach. Sabrina and Ricky really got into the playful mood. They’re so cute together! They were really cracking me up.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day…

Rachel and Kevin

On Saturday I met Rachel and Kevin in Echo Park to photograph their engagement session.  I had never photographed at Echo Park Lake before so I was really excited to have some new scenery to work with. This spot really has a lot of fun options with the beautiful park setting contrasted with an urban flair.  It really was a lot of fun.  And I love that Rachel and Kevin were playful and really got into the photos. They were up for anything I suggested.  Once we wrapped the lake we headed to Santa Monica Pier where we brazed some pretty fierce winds.  Rachel certainly is no bridezilla.  I don’t know of any other bride that could handle mother nature’s gusty blows with such ease.  What a trooper!  Unfortunate weather or not we still got some really great shots and had a great time doing it.  Check out some of my favorites from the day.

Heidi and Chris

Yesterday I met up with Heidi and Chris to shoot their engagement photos. We started out at the Huntington Library Gardens which always proves to be a stellar spot to snap some photos. We had a great time walking around the gardens and getting to know each other. I found out real quick that these two love to goof around. They were constantly making each other laugh and having a great time. I loved it! It made for some really candid shots. Once we wrapped the gardens we headed over to Alverno High in Sierra Madre which is an old Italian villa. It’s a beautiful spot for some romantic shots. And of course we took some fun shots too. Check out some of my favorites from the day.

Kathleen and Joe

Last week I met Kathleen and Joe at Huntington Gardens to shoot their engagement session. It was a beautiful day and perfect for taking advantage of all the photo ops at the gardens. Afterwards we headed to Old Town Pasadena for some more urban shots. I love shooting there because you never know what you might find around the corner or even down an alley. The creative possiblities are endless. And Kathleen and Joe were so much fun and adventurous. They even stood in the middle of the road for one shot. Getting to know them was a blast and I’m looking forward to hanging out with them again in November at their wedding.
